Oatmeal

Today I felt like having oatmeal for breakfast but my three year old craved for Saturday scones. This obviously resulted in oatmeal scones. Since we were out of jam we diced up some apples and pears which were baked in the oven with cane sugar and cinnamon. The sensation was pie like and oh so nice. Might be the best scones I've ever made.

Cake pop

Instead of working out I've been busy making cake pops with my kid the entire weekend. Sweet, tasty and tons of fun.

Balance

Today's workout had quite ambivalent results. The first part was core training which went fine. The subsequent run on the other hand went pretty lousy to put it mildly. I suspect any of these reasons might be the cause.
(I) I wasn't warm enough.
(II) My running shoes are worn out and needs to be replaced.
(III) When I'm running on a treadmill I manage to keep my sight forward instead of on the ground. I can't seem to be able to do the same when running outside which gives a quite crappy posture.
(IV) Today's meals. I've eaten almost nothing the entire day except from like an hour before workout which was a larger meal.

However, I hope I've learned something from this experience. I really do hope so.

Run

Time ran short and it has been raining cats and dogs this afternoon. Instead of running to the gym I took some time after my fitness class on the treadmill. 2,7 km and a little elevation took forever. Or 26 minutes. Next time I'll be faster.

Dinner

Smoked lamb, flat bread, baba ganoush, hummus, yoghurt and mixed vegetables.

Goal 1

In four weeks I will perform my first 5 km run. The first step is to run 2,4 km tomorrow on my way to the gym. 2,4 km. That isn't far. Not at all. I will succeed.

Trade off

After too many years off track I'm back. Today I'm trading the couch for triathlon. My goal is to perform an iron man 70.3 during 2014. Wish me luck!
